The Birthday Party that Ended in a Fistfight

Have you ever planned a child’s birthday party?

Did the stress of executing the birthday party ever get the best of you?

I remember my eldest’s first birthday. Family was coming in from out of town, we had rented out the apartment complex community room, and my wife had been cleaning for over a week. While it was stressful, I’m glad to say that we were able to enjoy our little one and our family around us. However, not everyone is as lucky.

Family events can be stressful. We all love our family, but for some families during holidays and family get-togethers, people tend to indulge in drinking a bit more than they normally would. In Florida, at a Chucky E. Cheese, what was meant to be a birthday celebration turned into an 18-person fistfight. The Huffington Post reported,

It all started in the bathroom of a Boynton Beach Chuck E. Cheese, where two men started arguing. Just minutes later, they allegedly started a fist fight in the dining room, and another 16 people joined in. Employees were able to move the battle outside, but not before the birthday boy’s grandmother was trampled, witnesses told WPBF.”

Unfortunately, the fight didn’t end there. It moved miles away and ended up with someone being shot in the leg.

Three people were arrested

  • Briana Walker, the birthday boy’s mother was arrested on drug charges due to have Xanax pills and marijuana in her purse.
  • Alfred Peoples
  • Robert Thompson

It is unclear who did it, but someone with the Walker party had on the possession of crack cocaine and morphine. Later on, investigators found a diaper bag with empty bottles of vodka.

In situations when stress gets the better of you not unlike this one, having an experienced defense attorney can be all the difference. An attorney could be influential in reducing charges.
