Were you wearing green yesterday?
Did you enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations?
If you were like many Detroiters and Michiganders, you probably enjoyed a little bit of this past weekend’s festivities. For many, St. Patrick’s Day is a time for green beer and Irish pubs. With Metro Detroit’s rich Irish culture, St. Patrick’s Day can be a good time in the Detroit area.
One Pub Started the Celebrations Early
According to the Detroit Free Press one metro Detroit pub started the celebration on Thursday night and the party continued until the wee hours of this morning.
Even though this year’s holiday was on a Sunday, dozens of people were ready to enter the Birmingham establishment when the doors opened at 7 a.m.”
Some Might Argue that Michigan is the Best State to Celebrate
Between the parade two Sundays ago and the celebrations this past weekend, the Detroit area boasts a fun time for all. The Gaelic League/Irish American Club of Detroit brought many Irish meals and traditions to the celebrations.
While much the origins of St. Patrick do not include green beer, this is a holiday many in Michigan like to celebrate.
Too Much Celebrating
Holiday celebrations can often bring on much more than good times. Detroit is still going through tough times. With the anxiety of the new financial manager and possibility of the city claiming bankrupt, we are all a bit nervous.
The Last Thing Detroiters Need
The last thing any Detroiters need is to face is a DUI or OWI on their own. While driving home from my in-laws last night, I saw many police cars on the roads. Typically, law enforcement will increase their paroles on the roads during holidays. If you have found yourself in a situation where a good time turned into something different, arm yourself. An experienced defense attorney can be all the difference.
