Have you ever wanted to wear a mask and help those in need?
After watching the movie, The Dark Knight Rises, it is hard not to get pumped about fighting crime, helping those in need, outfitting yourself in a super cool outfit and we cannot forget Batman’s toys.
Well, you are not alone superhero fans. The Michigan Protectors are a group of masked crime fights or how they put it costumed activists. Their goal is to help neighborhoods by:
“Crime prevention, animal abuse awareness, homeless outreach, and simply inspiring others to be more active in their community.”
The Michigan Protectors even has chapters all throughout Michigan including:
- Grand Rapids
- Ann Arbor
- Northwest Watch
One group member talked about how he is currently homeless and unemployed. This masked man is selling his plasma and using the money to buy water and food for homeless people of Lansing.
Another group member’s mission has landed him an assault charge. “Bee Sting” or Adam Besso was sentenced last Monday to a sentence of 102 days already served and two years probation. The crime fighter was charged with attempted assault with a weapon in Genesee County. According to the Detroit Free Press, this April Bee Stings shotgun went off in a trailer park while he struggled with a man.
Police say that Bee Stings outfit included,
“Bulletproof vest, black leather jacket with a bee logo, shin guards and knee pads”.
What do you make of this group, The Michigan Protectors? Do you think they can help inspire people everywhere to help those in need?
